Job Title:Entry-Level SUE Technicians – Raleigh-Based Field Roles

We’re hiring two motivated, entry-levelSubsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Techniciansto support our growing field operations. If you have experience in surveying or utility locating—or are eager to learn—we’ll provide the training and mentorship to help you succeed.

What You’ll Do:

+ Assist in identifying landmarks, utilities, and land features that impact survey work.

+ Support and eventually lead field crews, helping to plan and prioritize daily tasks.

+ Operate and maintain survey equipment to ensure accurate, high-quality results.

+ Collaborate with engineers, clients, and team members to share findings and updates.

+ Research maps, deeds, and historical records to support field investigations.

+ Keep detailed notes, sketches, and logs of your work.

+ Ensure safety protocols are followed and documented daily.

+ Travel locally throughout North Carolina—most work is within a daily commute from Raleigh.

What We’re Looking For:

+ Familiarity with survey tools and terminology.

+ Experience using Total Stations, GPS, and Data Collectors.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ At least 2 years of field experience in surveying or utility locating.

+ Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

+ Willingness to travel locally (primarily within NC).

+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

+ Ability to pass a drug screening.

Bonus Points For:

+ Experience in subsurface utility engineering (utility locating/designating).

+ Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

+ A steady, detail-oriented, and dependable work style.

+ Enjoyment of structured tasks and working independently when needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
