    Job Title: Driller/Bore Operator

    Job Description

    The role of Driller is integral to the safe and efficient operation of drill rigs, aimed at obtaining soil and rock samples for geotechnical analysis. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively with teams to ensure high-quality results while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up equipment and operate the drill rig safely to collect soil and rock samples.

    + Assist in the clearance of underground utilities and improvements.

    + Collaborate in surveying test boring locations and elevations.

    + Install monitoring wells and piezometers as required.

    + Properly seal boreholes per regulatory requirements when necessary, and backfill non-environmental boreholes.

    + Clean and restore sites to a reasonable standard post-drilling operations.

    + Support sampling activities to enhance efficiency, productivity, and maintain safety standards.

    + Obtain soil samples using correct collection and handling methods.

    + Prepare detailed field logs of borings, including soil classification and geologic origin documentation.

    + Conduct field, laboratory, and office activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, promoting safety and protection.

    + Maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with DOT driver regulations.

    + Foster professional relationships with clients and owners when present.

    + Participate in educational and training programs, reviewing manuals and QA procedures.

    + Assist CPT Technician on dedicated CPT rig or attached apparatus as needed.

    + Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.

    + Coordinate with other staff to improve efficiency, productivity, and communication.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in materials testing, soil density, construction, and drilling.

    + Mechanical ability including operation, repair, maintenance, and welding.

    + Working knowledge of well codes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Class D License required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves fieldwork with drill rigs and related equipment, requiring adherence to safety protocols. Employees must maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The role may involve using personal vehicles for business and requires physical activity in various weather conditions.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $52000.00/yr.
