Job Title: SUE TechnicianJob Description

The SUE Technician plays a critical role in assisting the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew. The role demands a strong commitment to ensuring the quality, accuracy, and thoroughness of work while meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining positive public relations. The technician is expected to operate equipment, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain equipment and vehicles, and accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features. This position may require some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

+ Assist the SUE Analyst in the operation of a SUE field crew.

+ Ensure the accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity of work, meeting regulatory requirements.

+ Maintain positive public relations and responsive service to clients.

+ Operate and protect equipment and vehicles.

+ Maintain a safe work environment.

+ Collect field data accurately and efficiently.

+ Locate features using specialized equipment.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in SUE field operations.

+ Proficiency with survey equipment such as total stations and GPS.

+ Expertise in SUE locating equipment or hydrographic equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with electromagnetic, vacuum excavation, and ground-penetrating radar.

+ Experience in land surveying.

+ Experience with USIC and a few years of experience with another organization, or less than 2 years with USIC.

Work Environment

The work environment involves extensive outdoor activities, requiring walking through various terrains in extreme heat and cold. The position is 100% field-based, with travel required to job sites across the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and other locations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $12.00 - $20.00/hr.
