    Job Title: Mass Spec SpecialistJob Description

     

    The Mass Spec Specialist will perform routine analyses on LCMS systems, ensuring compliance with methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines. This role involves conducting complex analyses using new methods and technology, performing in-depth cleaning and maintenance of instrumentation, and actively contributing to the Bioanalytical Team.

    Responsibilities

    + Independently start routine analyses on LCMS systems in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.

    + Perform complex analyses using new methods and technology, seeking scientific guidance when necessary.

    + Document work, maintain study documentation, and laboratory records according to regulatory documentation practices, and perform QC review of data.

    + Operate laboratory equipment, including system setup and general maintenance, identifying problems and resolving issues related to equipment repair.

    + Participate in project meetings, contributing to planning, monitoring, and guiding project work.

    + Inform Study Director, Lead Scientist, and management of any problems or deviations affecting data integrity, and participate in corrective actions.

    + Contribute to a cohesive team environment, coordinating workload with team members and managing multiple assignments effectively.

    + Identify and communicate technical issues to the study team, performing troubleshooting experiments and actively participating in their design.

    + Lead process improvement initiatives and maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment.

    + Author or review Policy, SOPs, and guides, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines.

    + Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in applicable areas for HPLCs, mass spectrometers, or site processes.

    + Train, mentor, and assist less experienced staff, and participate in client visits, communicating method-related or technical information.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.

    + Minimum 5+ years of analytical chemistry experience.

    + At least 3+ months of HPLC and LCMS experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in Method Development or Method Validation.

    + Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with a 2nd shift from 2pm to 10pm. The facility is located in Indianapolis. The position involves significant maintenance and troubleshooting of mass spectrometry equipment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.25/hr.
