+ Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

+ Design products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems considering cost, performance, materials, maintenance requirements, appearance, and impact on the end user.

+ Oversee all aspects of the design, development, construction, and testing processes.

+ Conduct research into the function and application of different types of mechanical components, heating and cooling processes, material handling techniques, control methods for liquids and gases.

+ Explore various possible machine configurations and aid in selecting the optimum design to satisfy customer processing objectives.

+ Perform necessary calculations to predict the performance of the finished machine.

+ Specify appropriate materials and components to ensure standards of performance, quality, cost, and safety are met.

+ Use computer software to generate designs, models, and documentation.

+ Assist in supplier selection and evaluation of incoming materials.

+ Provide manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of assigned processes.

+ Direct activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

+ Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

+ Make engineering changes/improvements within the CAD environment and process engineering change requests in a timely manner.

+ Ensure customer satisfaction consistent with expectations.

+ Participate in design reviews with design team members and read and interpret technical materials.

+ Provide product support on the manufacturing floor.

    Essential Skills
