    Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - CATIA

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) department. This role involves using CATIA software to conduct design feasibility and cost analysis, perform strength calculations, select materials, and oversee part construction and specifications. You will coordinate activities involved in prototyping and manufacturing assigned products.

    Responsibilities

    + Draft engineering solutions for assigned components or parts, including associated drawings and 3D layouts.

    + Confirm and track feasibility, costs, quality, and performance of designs.

    + Work under the guidance of senior engineers to finalize designs for components or parts.

    + Present designs during team evaluations and communicate with manufacturing, technical evaluators, and suppliers.

    + Prepare evaluation documents, including cost checklists and technical and styling feasibility reports.

    + Manage projects and suppliers effectively.

    + Conduct customer and market studies of new technologies.

    + Engage in self-improvement and training activities.

    + Collaborate with higher-level engineers and experts to ensure components and parts meet layout, quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements.

    + Travel may be required to facilities and suppliers in North America.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6.

    + Experience in product design, including sheet metal design, injection molding, stamping, and general part design.

    + Background in automotive product design.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.

    + Experience in mechanical design and solidworks.

    + Conducting feasibility studies and 3D layouts.

    Work Environment

    You will work within a team of approximately 15 designers in a research and development environment. The position offers contract-to-hire capabilities in a high-tech facility with opportunities for growth, particularly in front-end development for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. Benefits include 2 weeks of paid time off, 8 paid holidays, 2 weeks of paid shutdown, and straight time for overtime.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
