Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support assembly operations with necessary tooling and processes in an efficient and timely manner. This role involves continually developing new processes and tooling to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The ideal candidate must be self-starting and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
+ Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
+ Define, document, and implement new and modified manufacturing processes.
+ Provide line support for assembly operations, including transport, welding, coatings, and finishing.
+ Oversee manufacturing process details, including how, where, and why, and maintain all required process documentation.
+ Manage specifications, designs, sourcing, and project management of tooling and equipment projects.
+ Gather and organize data for project justification requiring capital investment.
+ Follow written procedures for the creation and control of fixtures, lifting and hanging devices, and material handling equipment.
+ Lead customer groups on tours of the factory.
+ Apply advanced manufacturing engineering skills, such as Lean and Theory of Constraints.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline required.
+ Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing methods, particularly welding, finishing, and assembly of light-gauge steel or aluminum.
+ SolidWorks (or other solid modeling software) and MS Office proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in tool design, rack design, and production support.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
+ Capability to communicate well and build relationships with operators in a union shop environment.
+ Experience with continuous improvement initiatives such as dent reduction and increased throughput.
+ Capability to work with automation teams to implement new robots and cobots.
Work Environment
The position is based in both the office and manufacturing floor, primarily in the steel plant with some projects in the aluminum plant. You will be part of a team consisting of around 8 Engineers and 3-4 technicians. The work environment fosters upward mobility with opportunities to implement new ideas or manage your own projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr.
