Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamicLaboratory Managerto lead and oversee all aspects of our Clinical and Pathology Laboratory Services. This leadership role is responsible for strategic planning, operational management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across multiple laboratory sites. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in laboratory science, proven leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence in patient care and diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of laboratory staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, performance evaluations, and PTO approvals.
+ Ensure timely completion of staff training, competency assessments, and continuing education requirements.
+ Oversee laboratory operations including workflow optimization, equipment maintenance, LIS/EMR integration, and vendor/service contract management.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory procedure manuals and records.
+ Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including NYSDOH, CLEP, and proficiency testing standards.
+ Conduct internal audits, review quality control data, and lead validation and calibration studies.
+ Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director to evaluate and implement new testing methodologies.
+ Support laboratory testing operations (30–50% of workload), including microbiology, urine cytology, FISH analysis, semen analysis, and other clinical diagnostics.
+ Prepare reports and agendas for quarterly quality meetings and maintain licensure and SOPs across all locations.
+ Coordinate annual chemical exposure testing for pathology staff.
Qualifications
Required:
+ NYS Medical Technologist License.
+ Minimum of 8–10 years of laboratory experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
+ Strong technical expertise in hematology, microbiology, molecular biology, and general clinical laboratory procedures.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multi-site operations and lead diverse teams.
Preferred:
+ Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
+ Familiarity with CLEP, NYSDOH, and other regulatory bodies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
