In this vital role, you'll assess patients, clients, and offenders to develop and manage individualized treatment plans. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:
A master's degree in social work.
NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Provides advanced technical and clinical consultation on psychosocial diagnosis and treatment when specialized treatment is indicated to overcome major problems in social dysfunction, serious behavior disorders or cases in which patients may be in jeopardy of severe risk to self or others.
+ Develops and implements complex individualized plans of service and social work treatment to address identified needs, problems, and behavioral/emotional reactions of patients and families.
+ Provides social work component on a multidisciplinary team for an area of medical specialization or for specific high-risk populations.
+ Provides expert testimony and/or advocacy representation for clients in court cases.
+ May conduct group therapy sessions for the support, education, and problem resolution of assigned population.
+ Interviews assigned cases for mental status examinations as requested to the parole board.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of Louisiana State Government
+ Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
+ An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
+ This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Career Progression Group: This position may be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, or 3
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate at each level. However salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
+ Social Worker 1 has an SER of$19.88per hour
+ Social Worker 2 has an SER of $21.27per hour
+ Social Worker 3 has an SER of $22.76per hour
This position also offers Premium Paybetween $2.00 and $5.00 an hour for eachhour worked, based on years of service with DOC,in additionto regular pay.
