    Are you a current, permanent Office of Motor Vehicles employee looking for a new opportunity? We’re looking for a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 to take the lead in issuing registrations, titles, and any other special project directed by immediate management, including monthly billings and handling complex, high-pressure situations.

     

    This role also involves managing daily deposits, ensuring security, and providing expert support in unique compliance cases.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience or training in any field.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

    NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

    May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    Performs staff development activities for employees of privatized public tag agents, including, but not limited to, instruction in the examination of required documentation and computer transaction processing for the titling and registration of vehicles. Introduces new employees to the policy/procedures manual and its function. Develops and maintains employee orientation and training manuals. Assists in the development of procedures for program and employee evaluation, control and planning. Responsible for training personnel with regard to new and expanded programs due to statutory or programming changes. Evaluates trainee/employee effectiveness and makes recommendations to management concerning the need for further training. Serves as principal advisor for resolving computer transaction processing problems encountered by employees of privatized public tag agents. Performs “Help Desk” functions by providing detailed answers to questions from public tag agent personnel relative to technical procedures to follow for transaction processing.

     

    Responsible for monitoring and distribution of all license plates. Responsible for maintenance of accurate inventory of license plates to ensure adequate supply to provide for uninterrupted workflow at over 160 OMV and Public Tag office statewide. Work with Data Processing, Finance, Motor Vehicle Offices and Public Tag Agents to resolve discrepancies in the plate database which consist of approximately three (3) million license plates.

     

    Reviews vehicle registration transactions, driver’s license transactions, and reinstatement transactions processed by public tag agent personnel to ensure that all laws, rules, regulations, and policy/procedures are being enforced. Documents findings and analyzes results to discern problems. Conducts physical inventory of license plates and secure forms of all public tag agent offices statewide.

     

    Performs testing of enhancements, changes and new transactions involving the vehicle registration computer system before implementation statewide. Serves as the liaison between the agency and the Data Processing center regarding system errors and problems.

     

    Assists internal and legislative auditors by providing support such as interpreting computer data, verifying information and providing detailed answers to questions concerning audits. Files correspondence, memorandums, statistical reports, training documentation, results of audits and computer changes, and other related materials.

     

    Develops and maintains multiple security programs and files that allow OV and Public Tag Agents to have access to and process work in OMV systems databases. Review and approve requests for upgraded security that allows an enhanced level of processing.

     

    Provides prospective and existing public tag agents with detailed information concerning contracts, surety bonds an computer equipment. Arranges background investigations with Criminal Information (LA State Police) on prospective owners and employees. Coordinates procedures necessary for a public tag agent to become operational as a Motor Vehicle office.
