*Overview* The McKeown School of Education is seeking an assistant director who will help lead Salem State University’s strategic efforts in developing and supporting a diverse, high-quality teacher workforce through both registered apprenticeship and pipeline initiatives. This position supports our commitment to developing the educator workforce through leadership in apprenticeship programs, pipeline development, and licensure conversion initiatives. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing academic, operational, and communication systems that support teacher preparation across multiple entry points—including undergraduate-to-licensure, career changers, and paraprofessionals—within both school and university settings. This includes oversight of the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program (RTAP), contributions to the Metro North Regional Center for License Conversion Support, and leadership of teacher pipeline development activities housed in the McKeown School of Education. Master’s degree required, in higher education/student affairs or related field 2. Evidence of strong written and communication skills 3. Strong experience providing student support to culturally, racially, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse populations *Preferred Qualifications* 1. Three to five years of full-time professional experience in a high school, college/university setting or full-time in a college-readiness or other program designed to support students from underrepresented communities in teacher preparation 2. Experience developing and sustaining productive collaborative relationships with colleagues (faculty and staff) in support of student success 3. Demonstrated knowledge of current research, theory and exemplary practices related to first-generation college students 4. Experience working with access or success initiative 5. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese *Working Location* This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus responsibilities, which may require occasional evening and weekend hours.
