Job Description

This position is part of a car auction company specializing in processing wrecked vehicles. The General Laborer plays a vital role in preparing vehicles for shipment to third-party customers. This full-time position involves working outdoors throughout the year.

Responsibilities

+ Open doors, hood, and trunk, using hand tools if necessary, depending on the condition of the vehicle.

+ Remove license plates from vehicles.

+ Use a Jump Box to power the odometer.

+ Start vehicles, if possible, to test functionality.

+ Clean out trash and dispose of it in trash cans. Separate personal belongings and place them in the trunk or as directed.

+ Use a shop vacuum to clean vehicles, if required.

+ Test the seals of windows and doors, if needed.

+ Take detailed photographs and answer questions about the vehicle.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with automotive tools and general labor.

+ Ability to work outdoors every day of the year.

+ Attention to detail.

Work Environment

The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and rain. The shift is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with breaks and a lunch hour provided. Overtime is available during busy periods. Employees must wear leather work boots, long pants, and reflective vests, and provide their own cold and rain gear. Safety glasses and gloves are provided, and uniforms and light weather coats are included once full-time employment is achieved.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of YORK HAVEN, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
