Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking skilled welders with proficiency in Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel to construct barges. The ideal candidate will be adept at MIG, TIG, and stick welding, and will be able to read and interpret blueprints effectively while working collaboratively within a team under supervision.

Responsibilities

+ Perform Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding on mild and structural steel.

+ Read and interpret blueprints for fabrication processes.

+ Work collaboratively with a team under the guidance of a supervisor.

+ Ensure high-quality welds on stainless and carbon steel materials.

+ Maintain safety standards by wearing appropriate protective gear.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and structural steel.

+ Minimum of 3-6 months of welding experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience in a similar welding role.

+ Capability to pass a weld test (1-5F positions).

+ Experience with tack fitting and fabrication processes.

Work Environment

This position involves working in an outdoor environment, which can be very hot. Safety gear such as steel-toed ankle-high leather boots, long sleeves, and pants are required. Avoid wearing contact lenses due to welding smoke. The job offers a choice between two shifts: 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and 2nd shift from 3:15 PM to 12:45 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30/hr.
