    Job Title: Aircraft Assembly Technician

    Job Description

    Join our team as an Aircraft Assembly Technician, where you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies. Your expertise in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices will ensure that all components meet customer requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.

    + Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.

    + Set up and run various shop equipment, including squeezes, precision measuring tools, drill motors, and countersink cutters.

    + Troubleshoot any problems that occur while continually looking for process improvements.

    + Perform any required rework or changes during the assembly process.

    + Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.

    + Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or GED; one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Six months of vocational training.

    + Proficiency in complex assembly and structures with at least 5 years of experience.

    + Ability to interpret blueprints.

    + Strong verbal communication skills regarding work processes.

    + Ability to write and record process information.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with sheet metal and structures is a plus.

    + Prefer experience with companies like Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna.

    + Experience in complex assembly and shimming.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This is a full-time, first-shift position with hours from 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required on Saturdays, approximately twice a month from 6am-11am. You will work in a climate-controlled area and are expected to wear steel toe boots. The noise level is typically loud, and you may be exposed to vibration, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The role requires physical activity, such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
