    Job Title: Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator who will be responsible for changing extrusion tooling, reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, utilizing calipers and micrometers for accurate product measurement, and adjusting extruder parameters to maintain product tolerances. Additionally, you will operate a forklift to manage the loading and unloading of products and materials efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Change extrusion tooling such as tips, dies, heater bands, screws, etc.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.

    + Utilize calipers, micrometers, tapes, and microscopes to efficiently measure product dimensions.

    + Adjust extruder parameters to ensure product stays within specified tolerances.

    + Drive forklift to load and unload product and material safely.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in extrusion, plastics extrusion, or plastic extrusion.

    + Proficient use of calipers and micrometers.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to multitask effectively.

    + Troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

    + High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of solid manufacturing/production experience.

    + Extrusion experience preferred, CNC experience with willingness to learn considered.

    + Above average attendance record.

    + No history of repeated or severe disciplinary action.

    + Completion of all required training programs.

    + Ability to work overtime as needed.

    + Compliance with plant safety policies and ability to wear PPE.

    + Ability to follow directions from supervisory staff.

    + Experience using gauges for inspection.

    + Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and perform tasks such as standing, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and climbing.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a very clean, focusing on driving performance in manufacturing through effective planning activities and continuous improvement. Be prepared to work assigned shifts, including overtime, while adhering to plant safety policies and wearing appropriate PPE.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, North Carolina.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.50/hr.
