At Alliant Energy, we’re seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to shape the future of our operations across Wisconsin Power and Light (WPL) and Interstate Power and Light (IPL). In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with senior leadership to streamline processes, elevate performance metrics, and empower a high-performing workforce—all while helping us deliver on our purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities. What you will do
+ Performs all leadership duties including, but not limited to, hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.
+ Collaborates with operations leadership team to define and execute strategic direction, goals and objectives.
+ Partners with operations leadership to drive prioritization and establish governance principles to achieve consistency within WPL and IPL and align our operational strategy and execution.
+ Defines, enables and continuously improves performance metrics that include operational excellence, project delivery and innovation.
+ Provides oversight for all activities, processes, change management, and issue resolution efforts related to operational excellence.
+ Develops and maintains industry benchmarks that support operational excellence.
+ Ensures effective relationships and communication channels for operational excellence priorities and performance metrics across all key stakeholders.
+ Provides oversight for the development the operations workforce including technical training policies and programs. Ensures facilitation of skill gap assessments, identifying professional development opportunities, facilitating culture initiatives, and supporting talent attraction and retention.
+ Maintains a solid working relationship with union leadership while making strategic recommendations to increase productivity, quality, and customer service levels.
+ Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree Emphasis in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Required
+ Master's Degree Preferred
Required Experience
+ 10 years of related experience.
+ 6 years progressively more responsible supervisory experience.
