What you will do
+ Performs all leadership duties, including hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct, and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.
+ Responsible for the development and implementation of gas and energy operations and strategic plans. Leads the planning, coordination and management of gas and electric operations and maintenance activities.
+ Oversees all aspects of the operations and maintenance of distribution assets. Directs the methodologies used to cost effectively manage all phases of standard electric and gas construction projects. Oversees the basic to complex electric or gas projects to complete projects as scheduled and within budget.
+ Ensure contracts are effectively managed with vendors and others as required to ensure optimum pricing, risk transfer, and other related contract terms and conditions. Work with internal and external counsel as required. Maintains a solid relationship with key contractors, vendors and suppliers.
+ Oversees the implementation of strategic improvement plans to all business processes within assigned organization in order to deliver desired vision and performance goals.
+ Responsible for providing the company’s strategic and long-range plan to Senior Managers and Managers.
+ Utilizes system performance metrics to ensure effective and efficient process standards are met and improving as expected.
+ Deliver profit and loss results for assigned area.
+ Maintains a solid working relationship with union leadership while making strategic recommendations to increase productivity, quality and customer service levels.
+ Takes a leadership role to ensure employees are compliant with all environmental codes related to local, state or federal guidelines. Models strategic environmental stewardship across company territory to employees, contractors, customers and general public. Ensures that no notices of violation are issued against the company within energy delivery operations.
+ Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety and promotes a safety conscious culture among employees. Deploys processes and work practices that continually promote a safe working environment including observing and enforcing safety rules and operating practices, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe behaviors/practices, investigating accidents and safety incidents, administering and monitoring safety programs, performing assessments, and communicating safety information out to the workforce.
+ Responsible for emergency direction and oversight of multiple areas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
+ Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree Emphasis in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Required
+ Master's Degree Preferred
Required Experience
+ 10 years of related experience.
+ 6 years progressively more responsible supervisory experience.
