    Job Title: Custodian

    Job Description

    We are seeking a diligent and reliable custodian to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclables in all restrooms, canteens, and offices.

    + Clean canteen tables, countertops, refrigerators, and microwaves.

    + Check and refill paper towel dispensers, toilet tissues, and sanitary napkin dispensers.

    + Store and reorder janitorial supplies.

    + Sweep and mop tile floors.

    + Vacuum all carpet areas.

    + Dust all ledges, windowsills, and pictures.

    + Clean all drinking fountains.

    + Sanitize all toilets and urinals.

    + Report all water leaks and lights that are not working.

    + Clean carpets as needed.

    + Scrub tile floors in shop bathrooms.

    + Clean windows.

    + Assist with the setup of meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.

    + Confirm all non-essential electrical appliances are turned off.

    + Shut off all lights not in use in designated areas.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in cleaning and janitorial duties.

    + Ability to sanitize and maintain cleanliness.

    + Skills in mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.

    + Knowledge of environmental services and custodial tasks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pm (initial earlier hours until trained).

    + Required PPE: Steel Toed Safety Shoes (not provided), Safety glasses (provided), Hearing protection (provided).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
