Job Description
As a Final Quality Inspector, you will perform quality checks on manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications. You will be the last line of defense, inspecting completed parts before they are sent to the customer.
Responsibilities
+ Use specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure and verify product dimensions and tolerances.
+ Document and report any defects or non-conformities discovered during inspection, and collaborate with production staff to resolve issues.
+ Continuously monitor quality control procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to management.
+ Conduct periodic audits of production lines to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
+ Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop and implement new quality control procedures and testing protocols.
+ Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations to ensure all quality control processes align with guidelines.
+ Train new employees on quality control procedures and expectations for consistency in product quality.
+ Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, working with other departments to implement solutions.
+ Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding quality control requirements and help resolve any quality issues in the supply chain.
+ Interpret drawings using standard GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to determine part conformity.
Essential Skills
+ Proven quality experience in the manufacturing industry.
+ Detail-oriented with experience interpreting drawings and/or written work instructions.
+ Proficiency in inspection equipment such as depth micrometer, calipers, height gage, tape measure.
+ Basic skills in mathematics and geometrics.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Available to work overtime, including Saturdays.
+ Quality documentation experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a machine shop, particularly custom work.
+ Experience with deburring and finishing parts.
+ Experience with machining to understand the concept of making a good part.
+ Experience in assembly to understand part compatibility.
Available Shift & Pay
+ 2nd shift: 3:30pm-12am with heavy overtime, including weekends.
+ **$25 - $30 base with a 10% shift differential ($27.50 - $33)**

Work Environment
Work in a traditional machine shop and assembly operation with over 100 CNC machines. The climate-controlled and bright assembly area offers an organized environment, while the machine shop provides a more hands-on experience. Inspectors will spend time on the machine shop floor and in the private quality area as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position located on the southwest side of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
