Job Title: Laminating Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Laminating Machine Operator to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced printing environment. This role involves setting up and operating lamination and bindery equipment to ensure the highest quality of finished products.

Responsibilities

+ Read and interpret work orders to determine machine set-up instructions and specifications.

+ Examine product samples for defects such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or uncut threads.

+ Set up, run, and adjust lamination and lamina machines to accommodate sheets, signatures, or books of specified sizes.

+ Trim edges of books to size using cutting machines, book trimming machines, or hand cutters.

+ Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, backings, or signatures using sewing machines, glue machines, or glue and brushes.

+ Inspect products to decide acceptance or rejection to maintain required quality levels.

+ Perform daily and periodic maintenance on bindery/finishing equipment, assisting in repair and rebuilding when necessary.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanically inclined

+ Experience in printing press operation

+ Machine operation skills

+ Bindery expertise

+ Lamination proficiency

+ Troubleshooting capabilities

+ Flexography knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 1+ years of experience in lamination or bindery, preferably in a printing company

+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Work Environment

Experience a fast-paced printing environment with heat and AC, although temperatures may vary when dock doors are open. The facility is well-lit, clean, and can be louder due to machinery operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
