Job Description
The Preschool Site Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a preschool facility. This individual plays a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for young children, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Site Manager works closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to maintain high-quality preschool programs. This position is located at Growing Roots Early Learning Center in Somers, MT.
Program Oversight:
+ Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
+ Ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs and activities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
+ Supervise and support teaching staff in the planning and execution of lesson plans and flexibility to teach classrooms.
+ Monitor staffing needs to ensure adjustments are made to balance the need to meet licensing requirements while working within the financial means of Growing Roots.
+ Purchasing of necessary supplies and reconciling credit card purchases monthly.
+ Work with GRELC director to create annual budget for site.
Staff Management:
+ Recruit, hire, and train teaching and support staff.
+ Provide ongoing supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
+ Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
+ Engages in and promotes a collaborative effort with other local Growing Roots sites in planning and implementing shared meetings and events.
Parent Engagement:
+ Organize and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences and meetings to discuss children's progress.
+ Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers.
Regulatory Compliance:
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing preschool programs.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including student enrollment, staff credentials, and health and safety documentation.
Facility Management:
+ Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the preschool facility.
+ Coordinate with maintenance and custodial staff to address any facility-related issues promptly.
Crisis Management:
+ Develop and implement emergency procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.
+ Provide leadership in managing crises or unexpected situations that may arise.
Requirements
Essential Physical, Mental, and Emotional Requirements
+ Ability to lift and carry infants, young toddlers, toy tubs and laundry bags on a regular basis, which requires mobility and physical demands
+ Knowledge of NAEYC Accreditation Standards and Code of Ethics
+ Ability to learn and adhere to STARS policies, practices and procedures including meal preparation and service
+ Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, sit in low chairs and on the floor for extended periods of time, which requires mobility and physical demands
+ Ability to clean indoors and maintain outdoors by raking and sweeping, which requires mobility and physical demands
+ Licensing requirements for immunizations (being immunized against MMR and tDap) as well as recent TB clearance met.
+ First Aid / CPR Certified in Pediatric and Adult, or ability to become certified immediately upon hire.
+ Subject to a minimum of 16 hours of Early Childhood training annually.
Education and Experience:
+ · Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Child Development or related field.
+ At least 2 years of experience within the past 5 in a licensed child care facility directly related to leadership experience and the duties and responsibilities specified.
