Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) is currently accepting applications for our General Utility Applicant Pool at the New Madrid Power Plant. This position offers a strong opportunity for individuals looking to build a career and grow within the Operations Department of a power generation facility.

About the Role

Under the direct supervision of Management and/or a Control Room Operator, the General Utility will perform essential and physically demanding tasks to support plant operations, including:

+ Filling coal bunkers

+ Lubricating conveyor systems

+ Maintaining the dust collection system

+ Performing general housekeeping duties in the bunker room

+ Making periodic equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and lubrication

This position involves working in confined spaces, at high elevations, and in a variety of weather and environmental conditions. The role requires a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Schedule & Work Conditions

+ 12-hour rotating shift

+ Includes nights, weekends, and holidays

+ Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED required

+ Minimum one year of mechanical or electrical experience

Pre-Employment Testing Requirement

To be considered for this position, all applicants must complete a pre-employment test administered by a third-party testing agency. Testing is a mandatory step in the selection process, and only applicants who are recommended based on their test results will be eligible for an interview.
