    QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrate­s aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

     

    2. Demonstrate­s health and physical ability to complete assigned responsibilities.

    3. A good work record.

    4. Previous teacher associate or related work preferred.

     

    REPORTS TO: Building Administration

     

    SUPERVISES: Student(s)

     

    POSITION GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Take directions from supervising teacher (Preschool) and building administrators.

    + Supervise students throughout the school day

    + Assist in the implementation and monitoring of students’ Individual Education Plans.

    + Follow behavior management plans, strategies and procedures for individual students

    + Assist in implementing consistent behavior management strategies and procedures.

    + Perform personal care duties for student(s) with disabilities as needed (including but not limited to: feeding, clothing, lavatory, toileting, diapering and wash up routines)

    + Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.

    + Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of the teacher.

    + Has a good working relationship with all other persons.

    + Completes all other tasks assigned by the supervising teacher.

    + Help in the classroom while the teacher is busy with another group of students.

    + Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, parents, staff and administration.

    + Attends to other such duties as may be assigned by the building principal.

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.

     

    EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow board policy 411.7.
