About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team. This role is critical to ensuring timely resolution of patient accounts and maximizing collections from both government and commercial payors. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of the full lifecycle of a patient account—from creation to payment—this is the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
+ Research and resolve outstanding account balances using patient accounting systems and online resources
+ Follow up on claim submissions and remittance reviews for insurance collections
+ Initiate and pursue resolution of disputed balances with government and non-government payors
+ Document clear and concise notes in the system regarding claim status and actions taken
+ Identify and resolve issues that impact revenue and reduce rework
+ Update plan IDs, adjust demographic and insurance information, and resolve recoupment issues
+ Access payer websites to gather data and resolve claims
+ Communicate system access issues, payor trends, and workflow inconsistencies
+ Recognize delays and trends with payors and respond proactively to prevent aging A/R
+ Attend team meetings and respond promptly to emails and phone messages
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ 3+ years of medical collections experience including working with denials and appeals
+ Must sit in either the CST or EST time zones
+ In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care insurance
+ Familiarity with medical billing, claims submission, and medical terminology
+ Proven experience in revenue cycle operations
+ Ability to problem-solve and work independently
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Proficiency in patient accounting systems and payer portals

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
