TEKsystems' partners are looking for a Lead Technician to support structured cabling projects in the Nashville area. This is a great opportunity for experienced technicians ready to lead, as well as entry-level installers looking to grow their careers in the low-voltage and cabling industry. What You’ll Do
As a Lead Technician, you’ll take charge of on-site operations—guiding your team, ensuring quality, and keeping projects on track. Entry-level team members will receive hands-on training and mentorship to build their skills and advance in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, terminate, and test low-voltage copper and fiber-optic cabling
+ Route cable through conduit, ceilings, and between floors per specs
+ Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
+ Identify and work with color codes (568A/B, 6/12 strand fiber, 25/50 pair)
+ Install and relocate modular connections and communications hardware
+ Lead and mentor junior and entry-level technicians
+ Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and safely
+ Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service
+ Submit accurate and timely documentation
+ Support troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed
+ Recommend process improvements to prevent recurring issues
What You Bring
+ Experienced Technicians: Strong background in Cat5, Cat6, fiber optics, and low-voltage systems
+ Entry-Level Applicants: Willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and interest in structured cabling or low-voltage work
+ Familiarity with AV systems, security systems, and video conferencing is a plus
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documents
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
+ BICSI certification or manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus but not required

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
