About the Department
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.
FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. The Position
Serve as the department team lead to provide daily direction and support to the Spare Parts team, to inlcude managing inventory, sourcing, and distributing spare parts and components to support operational needs. Aid in the training process for the team, to include writing and administering TROLs.
Relationships
Reports to (Associate) Manager.
Essential Functions
+ Oversee & support project work related to spare parts, to include directing team members in related day-to-day tasks
+ Responsible for vendor communication, quoting, & interactions, to include supporting vendor negotiations as required
+ Oversee and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and accurate record-keeping, to include SAP for managing spare part inventory, parts creation, movement, receipt & goods issue
+ Provide technical support and guidance to team members on spare parts identification and application
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to spare parts and inventory management
+ Train and mentor junior technicians in spare parts handling and management practices
+ Collaborate with production, reliability maintenance & purchasing group to set-up new spare part material master data
+ Execute Lay-up program by performing preventative maintenance tasks on parts in storage
+ Pull & stage material as defined for planned maintenance, as well as return unused stock to proper stowage & inventory
+ Oversee and Coordinate routine ABC inventory cycle counting process; report on accuracy & participate in investigations for discrepancies
+ Oversee incoming material inspection process, to include supporting traceability of parts to manufacturing batches & maintain shelf life of components
+ Monitor common stock inventory & work with vendor on service procedures and vendor replenishment program
+ Oversee and assist in optimizing parts storage for ease of retrieval & storage space utilization
+ Execute cLean principles & follow environmental, health & safety requirements
+ Operate forklift, hand-truck & other machinery to safely carry out the movement of materials
+ Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
+ Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license.
Qualifications
+ Associate's Degree in a Supply Chain/Materials Management or related field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of four (4) of inventory control and warehouse/distribution experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required
+ In lieu of an Associate’s degree with a minimum four (4) years, may consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six (6) years of experience and knowledge in inventory control & warehouse/distribution experience
+ A minimum of four (4) years of experience working with the SAP materials management module required
+ Proficiency and demonstrated competencies in the following areas: maintenance & repair, SAP, inventory control processes, staging procedures, and material handling skills/capability required
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills required
+ Attention to detail, ability to think critically & sequentially with proven time management skills required
