Description of Primary Duties
Purpose/Role of the Position: The Student Research Assistant will work for the Citizenship & Service-Learning office to support various projects and initiatives with research. This role involves conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations. The position provides the student with hands-on experience in research methodologies and practices, focusing on community engagement and service-learning.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to gather relevant information on service-learning, community engagement, and related topics.
+ Data Collection: Assist in designing and implementing data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups with students, faculty, and community partners.
+ Report Preparation: Assist in writing research reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
Occasional Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with additional tasks that support Citizenship & Service-Learning, such as event planning, public relations, marketing, and basic data management.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Enrollment Status: Must be currently enrolled as a student at the institution.
+ Skills: Proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis software, and strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
+ Experience: Previous experience in research or related fields is preferred. Relevant coursework in research methods, statistics, or related disciplines is advantageous.
+ Availability: Ability to commit to a regular schedule with flexibility for deadlines and special projects.
