Job Description
TheIowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS) is seeking aRetirement Compliance Officerto work in the External Compliance and Education Bureau.

Position Overview
As theRetirement Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for responding to inquiries received through IPERS’ dedicated employer support line, Employer Self Service (ESS) internet portal messages, email, written correspondence, and other forms of communication regarding compliance, training, reporting, and contribution issues.
What You’ll Do:
+ Communicate effectively and professionally with employersverbally and in writing regarding coverage laws, compensation arrangements, and corrective actions.
+ Be a subject matter expertfor IPERS’ ESS internet portal processes.
+ Assist employers with processes, including reporting wages, submitting contributions, correcting wages, and maintaining employer and member accounts.
+ Troubleshoottechnical pension administration system issues and processing errors.
+ Conduct research and complete follow-upregarding wage reporting, compliance, employer training, document and form requests.
+ Assist new reporting officials and organizationsto become familiar with IPERS’ processes and requirements.
+ Review member accountsto determine if corrections are needed.
+ Analyze dataon various reports, spreadsheets, etc. to find and correct data/compliance issues.
+ Assist with administrative tasksfor IPERS comprehensive employer training program.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree;
OR
one year of full-time experience in professional accounting, auditing, or tax preparation, quality assurance, investigation or interpretation of federal or state tax and/or employment laws may be substituted for each 30 semester hours or 1 year of the required education;
OR
employees withcurrentcontinuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full-time work as a Retirement Benefits Technician or Retirement Benefits Officer.
