APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $73,309.68 to $109,640.88 PAY GRADE: 38
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
This position is an Application Developer with the Nevada Department of Wildlife and will be located in either Reno or Las Vegas. Duties include designing, coding and managing internal application projects, coordinating requirements and deployments with stakeholders and documenting all aspects of the projects. Incumbent will work independently using the full SDLC process to build new applications and support existing applications created in .NET, C# and JavaScript. This position will write moderately to complex SQL on a regular basis. Incumbents will work on technology projects that have direct impact on the conservation of Nevada's wildlife and their habitat. Incumbent will also be a part of the Department's hunt application draw validation team and using a variety of scripting languages to validate the accuracy of draw results. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is required.
