    Overview

     

    Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a **Manager, Shift Operation End Stream Delivery (ESD)** to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

     

    This position is a senior leader responsible for managing safe and efficient facility operations on an assigned shift. Directs all aspects of ESD operations while on duty by providing work direction and making decisions affecting the accomplishment of work objectives and activities while promoting and ensuring the safety of employees. Matrix responsibility for Maintenance, E&I, Work Control, Laboratory, Construction, QA, IH, Technical and HP personnel. Independently makes decisions regarding emergency actions and non-routine occurrences that affect personnel health, plant equipment, and environmental permitting requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensures facility activities are performed in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with DOE Orders, State permits, and applicable requirements through implementation of company/site administrative, technical, and response procedures.

    + Maintains a South Carolina physical/chemical (P/C) wastewater operator license.

    + Ensures that operators under his/her cognizance are qualified for their job and physically fit to perform the work.

    + Coordinates and supervises all surveillance and emergency response activities at the Effluent Treatment facility (ETF) and Saltstone facility during back shifts, weekends, and holidays, in the absence of Facility and Operations Management.

    + Conducts concise, informative shift briefings which establish goals and priorities for the shift.

    + Authorizes work and plant configuration changes (i.e., the removal or return to service of equipment and systems for maintenance, testing, or operational activities, and operational activities that require abnormal lineups).

    + Authorizes the installation of equipment lockouts. Ensures qualified operations personnel install lockouts for maintenance work.

    + Communicates with other support organizations to ensure operating activities are performed as scheduled.

    + Performs administrative functions including the training, development and performance assessment of personnel.

    + Assumes primary responsibilities for plant cleanliness, housekeeping, and material condition.

    + Takes appropriate emergency actions, when necessary, to prevent or mitigate the consequences of an abnormal event and places the facility in a safe, stable condition following the event.

    + Ensures appropriate notifications are made in a timely, effective manner, as required by facility events and procedures.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with experience in a relevant engineering, operations or maintenance function; or

    + Associates of Science or Associates of Applied Science degree or non-technical Bachelor’s degree with experience in a relevant engineering, operations and/or maintenance; or

    + High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience in engineering, operations and/or maintenance function

    + Experience working in a nuclear facility

    Additional Information:

    + Current qualification as a Control Room Operator, First Line Manager or Shift Technical Engineer within the hiring facility will be credited as one additional year of experience

    + Deviations to Education and Experience Requirements must follow requirements of DOE Order 426.2.

    + Facility qualification process including extensive classroom, formal on-the-job training, and oral board examination conducted by facility management must be completed within one year.

    + Must Obtain South Carolina Waste Water license

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science

    • Previous supervisory experience

    Minimum Pay

     

    USD $113,000.00/Yr.

     

    Maximum Pay
