    **Purpose:** The Senior Manager, Global Development (GD) Business Operations Insights & Financial Planning is a global role, responsible for supporting the GD organization and Business Growth, Innovation and Advocacy (BGIA) leadership to enable GD financial decision-making at the GD Leadership Team (GD LT) level. This role will collaborate closely with GD’s Finance partners and Business Operations Leadership Team (BOLT) to track and report financial insights at the appropriate level and share insights with these groups.

     

    In this role the Senior Manager will provide timely support, insights, and analysis in a range of disciplines including, but not limited to, Resourcing, Financial, Metrics and Initiatives in order to increase rigor, strategic planning and decision making for the GD LT.

     

    The Senior Manager will work closely with the Finance Department as a key Strategy & Operations point of contact to help develop and align on key financial decisions. This includes analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the Senior Manager will assist in the development and implementation of processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for communicating updates and progress to BGIA leadership, as well as provide additional support to the BGIA LT as needed.

    You will be responsible for:

    Strategy

    + In key business planning cycles and throughout the year, partner with Finance to reflect strategic objectives across GD through effective data-driven storytelling, change management and stakeholder engagement

    + Collaborate across functions – via BOLT and Finance counterparts -- to ensure delivery of objectives / projects to drive shared business goals, resolve issues and optimize opportunities

    + Coordinate input from functional SMEs on opportunities to enhance/simplify delivery across key business platforms

    Resource and Budget Management

    + Collaborate with GD and key extended business partners, e.g. Finance, Portfolio Performance and Resourcing (PPR), and BOLT, to support effective information flow for efficient business planning.

    + Development and implementation of processes and analytical tools to support required near-time resource analytics; provide insights into risk areas and identify opportunities to strengthen business norms and principles in the area of financial or people resourcing

    + Develop processes / tools to support budget building and analysis in collaboration with Finance

    + Identify, develop appropriate materials to drive consistency, educate and upskill GD colleagues as required

    + Provide input to ad hoc requests, management reviews, etc., as requested

    Metrics / Initiatives

    + Build out metrics and dashboards to support GD Leadership Team (LT) level decision making, based on historical and forward-looking data.

    + Supports GD’s Non-Drug Project Initiatives, including financial tracking and visualization.

    + Provides support as needed on the implementation of new systems, processes and tools.

    Communications

    + Contribute to design, content development and communications to support financial storytelling e.g., for financial business planning or LT strategic planning

    Principal Relationships:

    + Within BGIA: Portfolio Performance & Resourcing (PPR) team, peers on GD Strategy & Operations team, BGIA LT

    + Functions across GD via the BOLT

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

    Experience:

    Required:

    + 8+ years of experience with a minimum of 5-7 years experience in a business planning and/or functional management role in clinical operations or relevant field

    + Strong financial acumen and experience aligning business plans with financial goals

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Proficient stakeholder management abilities

    + Experience working in a global, matrixed team

    + Strategic thinker with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions

    + Capacity to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities

    + Experience in working in cross-functional teams – change management experience in driving complex, significant transformation efforts

    + Up to 10% travel – Domestic & International

    Preferred:

    + Experience in business operations in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

    + Experience in finance functional role

    + Experience in strategy and operations or functional management in large complex organizations

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $120,000 - $207,000

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The expected base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000. The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
