**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Senior** **Wireless Engineer** to join our team in **Doral, FL** .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex wireless network systems, ensuring seamless connectivity, optimal performance, and adherence to industry standards.
+ Possesses deep technical expertise in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, cellular, and satellite communication systems, as well as network protocols, security standards, and industry best practices.
+ Leads and mentors a team of Wireless Engineers and Technicians, providing technical guidance and support to ensure efficient and reliable wireless network operations.
+ Conducts comprehensive needs assessments, analyzes requirements, and develops innovative wireless solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
+ Oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of wireless infrastructure, including access points, controllers, antennas, and network connectivity, ensuring optimal coverage, capacity, and performance. They also perform system-level design and configuration of network systems, including determination of hardware, operating systems, and other platform specifications to meet project requirements while maintaining interoperability with existing Sponsor networks.
+ Is responsible for planning large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and trade and cost studies, ensuring cost-effective and efficient solutions. They perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation and troubleshooting unique or complex problems, demonstrating expertise in complex technical problem-solving.
+ Conduct thorough testing and validation of wireless networks, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with industry standards.
+ They stay abreast of emerging wireless technologies and industry trends, recommending the adoption of new technologies to enhance wireless capabilities and efficiency.
+ CompTIA Security+ certified or similar certification that qualifies under DoD 8570.01-M or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Basic Qualifications:
+ BA/BS in field necessary to assume Wireless Engineer duties or 4 years of additional experince in lieu of a degree
+ 9+ years of experience with 5+ years of relevant Wireless Engineer experience.
+ Proficiency in wireless network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/etc.).
+ Experience with wireless network survey tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet).
+ Strong understanding of wireless security protocols (e.g., WPA2/3, 802.1X).
+ Experience with wireless controllers and access points from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Meraki). Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
+ Experience in hardware and software selection based on project requirements.
+ Ability to conduct vendor comparisons and trade studies. Experience in planning and implementing large-scale systems projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
+ Experience with advanced wireless technologies (e.g., mesh networks, beamforming).
+ Experience with cloud-based wireless management platforms. Experience with network automation and optimization. Experience with VoIP over wireless.
+ Experience with network modeling and simulation tools.
+ Certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, CCNA Wireless, or CCNP Wireless.
+ Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
+ Must have a current/active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
+ Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
