    About the Position

     

    Lenovo's Solutions & Services Group (SSG) is a business unit focused on delivering end-to-end IT solutions and services. It combines Lenovo's hardware and software expertise to offer services like attached services, managed services, and "as a Service" (AaS) offerings. SSG aims to help customers achieve their business outcomes by integrating various IT solutions and optimizing their technology investments.

     

    In the Virtualization Engineer role, you will be responsible for operation and maintenance of private cloud infrastructure services and operating systems. This position will join us onsite at our Morrisville, NC location on a hybrid schedule 3 days per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of private cloud infrastructure services and operating systems.

    + Promptly handle production system incidents to ensure overall infrastructure SLA.

    + Continuously optimize the operation and maintenance framework of private cloud services to enhance platform stability and availability.

    + Improve platform and tooling capabilities and drive architectural upgrades.

    + Optimize and improve existing O&M and monitoring processes to enhance standardization and consistency in operations.

    Basic Qualifications

    + 7+ years of Experience with Linux server operation and maintenance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Demonstrated success managing environments with 100+ servers.

    + Proficient in both Linux and Windows technologies; capable of independently resolving common system issues and analyzing performance problems related to CPU and I/O.

    + Proficient in shell or Python scripting, with strong skills in automation to ensure stable and efficient service delivery.

    + Proficient in KVM virtualization technologies such as libvirt, QEMU, and Virtio.

    + Familiar with core OpenStack components, including Nova, Cinder, Glance, Neutron, and Keystone.

    + Hands-on experience in managing large-scale OpenStack clusters.

    + Able to optimize OpenStack performance and ensure business stability under high concurrency.

    + Solid understanding of network routing and switching technologies, TCP/IP, and common network protocols, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.

    + Strong sense of responsibility, able to work independently, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field a plus

     

    The base salary budgeted range for this position is $85-105k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This is a hybrid position 3 days per week at our Morrisville location.
