Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Services Coordinator performs safety related functions and activities for all Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) facilities as they relate to the MCHS Program. To ensure a safe environment for associates, customers and other users of MCHS facilities by utilizing established policies, guidelines and protocols to ensure compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies. Must complete the Respiratory Protection training and serve as a resource for employees.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._
**Minimum Required:** Post-secondary education/degree.
**Preferred/Optional:** Formal training or previous work experience in a safety-related field is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
+ Strong computer knowledge and skills are required.
+ Understanding of the importance of being accountable and ability to focus on those activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments.
+ Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
+ Understanding of the importance of insightful listening, communicating and ability to provide information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact.
+ Knowledge of the procedures and programs in place in the organization to ensure employee safety (occupational health, fire safety and emergency response plan); ability to take appropriate and immediate actions in case of an emergency.
+ Knowledge of federal, state and local healthcare related laws and regulations; ability to comply with these in healthcare practices and activities.
+ Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
+ Knowledge of the current situation or issue at hand, and the ability to take full personal responsibility or ownership for assignments, activities, decisions and results.
+ Knowledge of the necessity and value of teamwork; experience with and ability to participate effectively as part of a team.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

**Minimum Required:** Must have a valid driver's license.
**Preferred/Optional:** Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) certification preferred.
