Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Firefighter of NVSUPPACTMID SOUTH. Responsibilities You will determine levels of staff, equipment, and other resources needed to provide departmental services and programs. You will explain work requirements to fire inspectors and other employees related to new or changed procedures. You will monitor a fire department's workload to ensure goals are met. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Detecting fire hazards (potential and immediate) and determining corrective action; 2) Operating firefighting vehicles and equipment in accordance with principles of hydraulics and firefighting techniques; 3) Providing emergency assistance (first aid, HAZMAT, etc.) in accordance with safety standards and regulations; 4) Applying the theory of fire propagation and progression to reduce fire hazards and/or combat fires; 5) Leading a crew of firefighters (i.e. directing drills, assigning work, etc.) (NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume. Certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Hazmat Incident Commander, Apparatus Driver/Operator Pumper, FEMA ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, 800, and CPR. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT)The following certification, if not already held, must be obtained within 12 months of hire as mandatory condition of position: Driver Operator Aerial.
