    ABOUT YOU

    As a Deputy Director of Retirement, you bring sharp analytical skills, sound judgment, and a strong sense of integrity to complex financial and regulatory work, ensuring every detail supports the long-term strength of the pension plan. With a deep understanding of public pension systems, you stay informed, adapt confidently to evolving laws and requirements, and provide accurate, responsive support to both members and decision-makers. You communicate with clarity and empathy, collaborate seamlessly across teams and agencies, and handle sensitive information with care—always keeping transparency and member needs at the center of your work.

    What you will do:

    + Assist in managing the pension plan’s financial and administrative functions, including investment and financial reporting, retiree payroll, tax reporting, warrant billings and member record maintenance.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies, oversee accurate benefit calculations, and support member services and account management.

    + Contribute to the development and enforcement of policies while keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry trends.

    + Work closely with vendors, consultants, and regulatory bodies, protect sensitive information, and represent the plan when required.

    WHAT YOU OFFER

    + Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree and/or CEBS preferred

    + Minimum of five years’ experience in benefit plan administration, including two years in a leadership role involving decision-making and direct engagement with trustees and stakeholders.

    + Working knowledge of M.G.L. Chapter 32, Retirements and Pensions, for administering the MPAERS and its requirements.

    + Familiarity with public records laws, open meeting regulations, and institutional investment practices.
