    Job Summary

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Proposal Specialist to join our team. The Proposal Specialist will be responsible for leading and managing the preparation and submittal of technical and commercial proposals for High Voltage Underground (HVUG) projects. Overall, the role is responsible for ensuring winning proposals are delivered on time in accordance with Southwire and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have strong technical aptitude and an analytical approach to completing complex work while adhering to strict milestones and deadlines. Beyond preparing what is required to respond to the customer’s inquiry, the Proposal Specialist must seek input from from multi-functional stakeholders across the value chain

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proposal Preparation: Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for high voltage projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, technical specifications, and company standards.

    • Salesforce Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity records, customer interactions, and proposal statuses in Salesforce. Generate reports and dashboards to track proposal progress and pipeline health.

    • Technical Expertise: Provide technical input for proposal documents, including project scope, design considerations, material specifications, and technical methodologies.

    • Cost Estimation: Work closely with project engineers, estimating teams, and procurement departments to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.

    • Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure risks are clearly communicated in proposals and during the bidding process.

    • Client Interaction: Communicate directly and/or with support from the HV Technical Sales Manager with customers, consultants/agents, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and tailor proposals accordingly.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Engineering and HV Services teams to ensure alignment and feasibility of proposed solutions.

    • Proposal Quality Assurance: Ensure all proposals adhere to company quality standards, including formatting consistency, technical clarity, and compliance with customer requirements.

    • Post-Submission Support: Assist in negotiations, clarifications, and post-tender discussions with clients as needed.

    • Purchase Order Processing: Review received purchase orders (POs) for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with submitted proposals before processing. Establish handover meetings to subsequent production and project management for subsequent project execution phases.

     

    Required Education & Experience

     

    Minimum Education Level: Associates

     

    Specialized Degree: Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Business Management

     

    Years of Experience: 3Field of Expertise: Sales, project and/or quoting experience

     

    Preferred Education & Experience

     

    Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's

     

    Specialized Degree: Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Business Management

     

    Years of Experience: 5Preferred Field of Expertise: Sales, project and/or quoting experience
