  • Event Marketing Manager

Small Batch Standard (Ponte Vedra, FL)

    Apply Now

We're the premier, remote accounting, tax, and consulting firm built exclusively to serve the craft brewing industry.

Our mission is to help breweries make profit. And our team is filled with expert, autonomous, adaptable, high performers.

Are you up for the challenge?

We're looking for a full-time, remote Event Marketing Manager to join our specialized team. The main objective of this role is to own, manage, and run our events marketing channel: planning, scheduling, and executing between 24 to 48 events annually within the craft brewing industry to drive marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and booked calls for our services.

    About The Role

This role will report to the CEO and is accountable for fulfilling the following responsibilities:

+ B2B event planning, scheduling, and execution. Identify event opportunities, build relationships with event directors, secure speaking slots and trade show placements, design and build out campaigns, and manage all of the details and logistics for 2-4 in-person events per month on average, including state brewery guild conferences, the Craft Brewers Conference, and similar industry gatherings. This will also include some level of event attendance, and hands-on execution at our trade show booths, presentations, and related off-site gatherings, including outreach and networking.

+ Event campaign design and execution. Develop and optimize pre-event, during-event, and post-event workflows, including presentation content, marketing offers, booth design and strategy, email/SMS campaigns, landing pages, VSLs, opt-in opportunities (e.g. forms, QR codes, business cards, etc.) and follow-up sequences. This will involve collaboration with both internal resources (SMEs, speakers, design, sales), as well as external resources (contractors, executive directors, clients, prospects, industry partners). The goal here is to do anything we can to maximize attendance and interactions with our ICP, to increase opt-in and qualification rates, and to maximize for MQLs and booked calls with the sales team.

+ Develop marketing materials, processes, and automations. You'll also be responsible for building on our existing marketing assets, processes, and technology to further streamline and improve our efficiency as a team. This will include some level of copywriting and design mockup, marketing templates and workflows, and tech stack setup and improvement (Salesforce, Chilipiper, ActiveCampaign, Wordpress, Zapier, etc.).

+ Ownership of testing, tracking, and reporting. You'll track and manage to the results you're being held accountable for. This means you'll need to set up our campaigns appropriately and monitor funnel performance (attendees > opt-ins > leads > MQLs > bookings > opportunities) via Salesforce, Google Sheets, etc. This testing and reporting cycle happens monthly and will plug into our leadership review and planning process.

+ Support your Marketing, Sales, and Ops teammates. As a key internal and external representative of the SBS brand, beyond your day-to-day responsibilities you'll be asked to collaborate and integrate your work with your teammates. Whether that's alignment with other marketing campaigns, feedback from sales, or coordination with SMEs and client relationships on the delivery side, you ensure that our external industry presence is aligned with our mission and team so that we can operate as a cohesive, high-performance unit.

    About You

We're looking for an individual who:

+ Eats, sleeps, and breathes event marketing. In a word, you're obsessed. You're energized and come alive at the opportunity to build face-to-face, B2B relationships and turn them into new clients.

+ Has OCD-level detail orientation. Your inbox is a steel trap, no detail passes by without scrutiny, and you maintain an iron grip on every aspect of your work.

+ Is ruthlessly data-driven. Beyond generating leads and conversions, you also have a consistent track record of objectively using results guide what you double-down on and what you throw out.

+ Leads from the front. You demonstrate by doing, and jump at the opportunity to fill gaps within the team to get the job done. Whether shipping merch, troubleshooting Salesforce, or rolling up your sleeves with the sales team to send follow up emails, no task is too small.

+ Is a manager of one. Unlike working within an agency or broader marketing department, in this role you'll be in the driver's seat, managing your workflow, workload, and resources at your disposal to meet our event channel objectives.

    About Our Culture

We're fully remote, with team members and clients located all across the U.S. and have developed our own unique culture we call The SBS Way, within which we operate, evaluate performance, and make decisions using our core values as a guide:

+ Be Antifragile. Everything we do is an opportunity for learning and continuous improvement.

+ Play The Long Game. We make decisions in the long-term interest of our firm, our clients, and our industry.

+ Act as A Team of Experts. We willingly collaborate and provide feedback to develop ourselves and deliver exceptional results for our clients.

    Working At SBS

What it's like working at our firm:

+ High flexibility. We don't have time sheets, don't track hours, and leave it to each team member to determine the best way to complete their work. Your schedule is yours to make.

+ High accountability. We measure and manage to our key performance metrics and ensure each team member takes ownership over their accomplishment with a high level of quality. You own your results.

+ Merit-based career progression. We have clearly established career tracks, performance benchmarks, and mastery levels set for all of our core positions, with a quarterly promotion consideration cycle in place to evaluate your progress. Your progress is under your control.

+ Great pay for great work. We pay based on the things that matter: position (and its market value), level of mastery, and productive output for our firm. You'll be compensated well and can focus on great work.

+ Performance bonuses. Beyond the base salary compensation for each role, individuals who go above and beyond to achieve a higher level of productivity and contribution to our goals will be eligible to receive significant additional performance-based compensation.

+ Generous benefits. We offer a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance enrollment; as well as an IRA match, tech stipend, three weeks of paid time off, holidays, and parental leave.

+ Personal and and team development. Beyond our continuous learning focus, we also provide support for personal development in the form of expense coverage for continuing education (books, courses, training, certifications, etc.) as well as experiential learning (brewery visits, industry events and conferences, etc.). Each year we also meet in person for an all-expenses-paid annual retreat as a team.

    Job Requirements

The following basic requirements must be met:

+ 5+ years of small-to-middle market B2B event and/or trade show marketing experience.

+ Ability to work remotely with up to 25% travel required to attend industry events.

+ Available and responsive beyond normal business hours (typically 9am-5pm EST, Mon-Fri), with periodic work before, after, and on weekends as needed to align with event schedules.

+ Have a demonstrated ability to do cross-functional remote work with crystal clear professional written and verbal communication skills.

+ Have a strong, consistent internet connection and a work environment conducive to video calls.

    Preferred qualifications include:

+ Direct previous experience marketing high LTV products and services to small food, beverage, and/or hospitality business owners.

+ Broader content-driven, direct-response digital marketing experience with an emphasis on copywriting, CRO, and outbound email.

+ Experience with the following platforms and their integrations: Salesforce, Chilipiper, ActiveCampaign, Wordpress, Zapier, Podio or similar remote project management tools.
