POSITION OVERVIEW:
Established in 2015, the Sixers Youth Foundation is the non-profit affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers. Through grant funding and capacity building opportunities we develop multi-year partnerships with organizations serving primarily middle school-aged youth in the greater Delaware Valley region.
The Sixers Youth Foundation is seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to be Ticket Representatives and Brand Ambassadors for the 50/50 Raffle Program. Proceeds from the raffle program will benefit the Foundation’s partnership with non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region to serve young people across three key areas — quality extracurriculars, academic enrichment and safe play spaces.
Ticket Representatives are responsible for selling raffle tickets during each home game and will be trained to use the 50/50 software and devices. Sellers are expected to be self-motivated, outgoing, and reliable. Sellers must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, must be team-players, and must possess excellent communication skills. Experience in sales is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO THE BELOW:
+ Approach fans pregame and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 Raffle program and propose the opportunity to purchase tickets
+ Understand the mission of the Sixers Youth Foundation and effectively communicate and deliver information regarding the Foundation’s charitable endeavors
+ Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the raffle tickets via designated handheld devices
+ Must be prompt and arrive at scheduled shifts on time
+ Must be comfortable independently working in large groups of fans
+ Must demonstrate a positive attitude when interacting with fans and other employees
+ Must work a majority of 76ers home games
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Must be at least 18 years old
+ Must be able to work 75% - 80% of Philadelphia 76ers home games each month during regular and post season with expectation of working nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
+ Must be committed to working Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays depending on game schedule
+ Experience in sales and customer service is a plus
+ Desire to learn about non-profits, fundraising, public relations, public speaking, and sales is preferred
+ Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team
+ Must wear uniform when working (shirt provided): black sneakers and black pants
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Work Environment: This position requires that work be performed from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA
+ Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand and move for entire shift (approximately 4-6 hours). Must be able to move throughout the arena (the concourse and/or sections) and interact with fans
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $15.49/hour.
This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
