Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Ag Lending Manager to help lead and oversee our agricultural lending portfolio, including managing and growing client relationships in the markets we serve along with the supervision and mentoring of ag lending personnel. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial lending with a focus on ag production and agribusiness clients, demonstrating expertise in structuring complex credit facilities, managing a demanding and complex portfolio of clients, and helping guide a team of high-performing lenders.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management
+ Oversee a complex and growing portfolio of agricultural production and agribusiness loans.
+ Ensure strong credit quality by conducting regular portfolio reviews, inspections, monitoring risk, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Business Development
+ Drive new business generation through proactive engagement with prospective ag producers, processors, co-ops, and agribusinesses.
+ Represent the institution at agricultural events, trade shows, and community functions.
Credit Administration & Risk Management
+ Partner with credit analysts to ensure accurate risk assessment and proper loan structuring.
+ Participate in credit committee reviews and support the development of sound credit policies tailored to the ag industry.
Strategic Planning
+ Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the direction of the ag lending portfolio and align departmental goals with organizational strategy.
+ Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to adapt lending strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications
+ Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in agricultural or commercial lending, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team leadership role.
+ Proven track record of managing a high-performing ag loan portfolio and leading lending teams.
+ Deep understanding of agricultural production cycles, ag-related financial statements, commodity markets, and farm management practices. Feedlot experience would be a plus.
+ Strong credit analysis, structuring, monitoring, and negotiation skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust with clients and staff alike.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or advanced certifications preferred)
