Description
Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a highly skilled and solutions-focused Accounting Manager contractor to lead a six-week solo accounting close and cleanup project. This critical initiative involves tackling financial reporting processes that are several months behind, reconciling data, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify and resolve complex accounting challenges while leveraging Epicor ERP systems.
Responsibilities:
• Take full ownership of the delayed financial reporting process, bringing accounts up to date and aligning them with reporting standards.
• Independently manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Fully utilize Epicor ERP to execute thorough cleanup and reconciliation of financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Assess and address critical gaps or inefficiencies in accounting processes, applying a creative and analytical approach.
• Prepare and finalize accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Compile audit-ready documentation and provide support for historical accounting cleanup as required.
• Develop actionable recommendations for improving workflows and ensure financial data integrity moving forward.
• Deliver regular status updates and a comprehensive project summary report by the end of the engagement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles involving financial statement preparation and data reconciliation.
• Strong proficiency with Epicor ERP (required) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Proven ability to critically assess accounting issues and devise effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and prior experience in cleanup/turnaround projects is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional self-management skills, with the ability to work independently to meet strict deadlines.
