*Description*

Summary:

The Transport Supervisor manages the daily operations of the Transport services department. Assigns and reviews the work of Transport employees engaged Has direct communication with Nursing Leadership

Responsibilities:

* Directs, supervises and motivates up to 25 employees in the Transport Services Department

* Orients, trains, counsels and evaluates employees

* Maintains, modifies and upgrades proper safety precautions & procedures to protect patients, visitors, and employees

* Determines efficiently and develops processes that produce cost effective utilization of departmental and hospital resources to ensure an effective Transport experience; Develops an empowered, knowledgeable, customer orientated staff, which functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

* Assigns work force daily to ensure departmental productivity

* Manage the work and training activities of personnel according to policies & procedures of the organization

* Create and/or update assigned systems, documents, policies & procedures to conform to codes

* Interview applicants for hiring and implement disciplinary action as required

* Responds to all customer Transport request's and complaints within a timely manner

* Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Issues a purchase order using automated methods and contacts supplies vendors according to established department procedures to place orders

* Generates and posts all schedules for all three shifts

* Edits and approves employee payroll

* Prepares and maintains reports, records, and all department files

* Participates in projects or on committees as directed by department leadership; Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

* Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance

* Performs other duties as required

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

*Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:*

•Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

*License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:*

•Basic Life Support (within 6 months of hire or transfer date)

Working Conditions:

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
