    Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Emergency Department ED

    **Work location:** Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231

    **Work hours:** Full Time/Evenings (11A-11P) 36 hrs/week; weekend and holiday requirements

    Emergency Department Highlights:

    • Fast-paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients per day

    Here’s What You Need:

    • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required

    • 6 months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program required

    • LVN – Licensed Vocational Nursing upon hire required and

    • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

    • NRP – Essential Neonatal resuscitation Program within 90 days required and

    • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required

    • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

    What You Will Do:

    • Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.

    • Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

    • Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.

    • Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

    • Uses nursing models to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plans of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
