Job Title: Applications Engineer - Rotating Equipment

Type: Contract To Hire

Compensation: $34/hr - $43/hr DOE

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Position Summary

The Applications Engineer serves as a critical liaison between the customer, sales, and engineering teams. This role provides both pre-sales and post-sales technical support with a focus on reciprocating compressors used in the oil & gas industry.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

+ 2+ years of experience in mechanical systems, preferably involving reciprocating compressors or similar equipment.

+ Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with the ability to analyze and interpret performance data and mechanical drawings.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

+ Highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative team player.

+ Willing and able to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience supporting reciprocating compressors in oil & gas applications.

+ Familiarity with compressor system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance analysis.

Essential Job Functions

+ Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders on applications involving reciprocating compressor valves and related systems.

+ Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and sales team to review project requirements, develop proposals, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.

+ Provide engineering input and support across the full sales lifecycle—from initial project scoping, site data collection, and technical solution development to implementation and after-sales support.

+ Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of compressor valves; collect operational data for continuous improvement and diagnostics.

+ Develop and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for customers and internal teams.

+ Maintain detailed records of installations, field performance, and customer feedback to support product improvements and innovation.

+ Contribute to the development of marketing and training materials, including application notes, case studies, and user guides.
