Job Title: Shipping Specialist

Job Description

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for managing the storage, picking, and handling of raw materials, as well as overseeing the receipt of purchased items and other company supplies. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

+ Store, pick, and handle raw materials efficiently.

+ Crate and uncrate items for shipping and receiving purposes.

+ Receive purchased items and other company supplies.

+ Sort, verify, and stock recently received items in designated storage areas.

+ Maintain stockroom areas in a neat and orderly manner.

+ Construct crates and pallets as needed.

+ Pull and pack bent metal parts for kits according to pick lists and Addendum Bill of Material (ABMs).

+ Assemble job skids with items for shipping to meet the production schedule.

+ Follow all safety guidelines.

+ Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead(s) and Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in inventory management and material handling.

+ Proficiency in shipping and receiving tasks.

+ Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.

+ Competency in using an RF scanner for tracking inventory.

+ Skill in picking and packing materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Basic computer skills.

+ Forklift experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a climate-controlled warehouse, which can get warm during the summer months. The role follows a Monday to Thursday schedule from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Friday and Saturday work as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Daleville, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
