    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As an Administrative Officer 1, you will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of the department’s operations, including strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial management, and service delivery. This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing departmental goals, managing budgets and state/federal grants, supervising staff, and ensuring efficient and effective transportation services across the county. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Human Services Administrator and other county departments, while representing the Transportation Department in public and intergovernmental forums, ensuring high standards of safety, service quality, and operational effectiveness. Specific duties include:

     

    + Monitoring expenses and approving invoices

    + Analyzing statistical information to identify trends, anomalies, and inconsistencies

    + Assisting with negotiation of contracts

    + Overseeing the maintenance of vehicles inventory

    + Completing performance evaluations

    + Mediating consumer concerns

    + Completing accident reports

    + Training staff

    + Attending seminars and workshops

    + Conducting marketing activities

    + Developing initiatives to promote effective transportation services

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Note: Overnight or out of county travel for meetings or trainings may be required.

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and a bachelor's degree;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
