Overview Front line involvement in day to day control strategies as established and directed by managing engineer. Aide maintenance and manufacturing team in maintaining stability, working with process engineer to reduce process variation with controls, and providing technical support to maintenance staff. Tunes loops and develops expertise in a discipline of the core lime business (Pyro-Process, Comminution, Hydration) Requirements Education: Associates Degree in Electrical Automation or Controls or related field required. Experience: Up to 3 years' experience of process and operations experience required. Skills: Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with all functional groups and through several levels of the organization. Behaviors: Experience with or high aptitude for learning the various general and specialized technical software packages such as RS Logix, Wonderware, etc. Essential Functions Learn and maintain control strategy for core business discipline. Monitor and tune existing Loops on process based on established control strategy Work with process engineer in established area to keep process loops in automatic 100% of the time Maintain PLC tools to reduce variation in the process Be available to Control room operators to collect ideas, correct anomalies, and potentially increase depth of controls Maintain quality parameters of the product being produced in the area of responsibility. Programming and Instrumentation Follow MLC object-based programming structure Follow MLC instrumentation standards, and aide in maintaining instrument standards Aide in troubleshooting instruments and control loops that are contributing to process instability Work with process engineer on mass flow transmitters, pressure, and temperature instruments during routine process measurements. Customer Focus Supply technical support to Operations unit manager, Maintenance leader, and process engineer. Project Support Equipment Outages and Planned Maintenance Assist with inspections on equipment while offline Aide in troubleshooting and installation of instruments during shutdown/overhauls Work with maintenance to maintain equipment to reduce process variation Capital Projects Support small capital projects while maintaining all other duties. Collect field data and update documentation. Do not sacrifice basic process controls at the expense of project execution Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
