    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    Responsible for the daily management and operational oversight of the Surgical Gross room including managing HR functions, staff scheduling, maintaining regulatory compliance and budgeting. Serve as a liaison to laboratory administration. Also responsible to perform the gross examination and sectioning of surgical pathology specimens.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Either (A) Bachelors Degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant educational program plus 3 years experience as a Pathologists' Assistant required OR (B) Bachelors Degree in a job-related field plus a total of4 years experience in Anatomic Pathology with 3 of those 4 years as a Pathologists' Assistant required.

    + Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements. The equivalency evaluations will be performed by a nationally recognized organization. Ex. National Association Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). The applicant is responsible for paying the cost of the equivalency evaluation.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Experience in an academic hospital setting preferred. AAPA certification.
