A leading early-stage venture capital firm with over $500 million in assets under management is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join its growing team. The firm is known for its founder-first approach and deep expertise in enterprise AI, digital health, and industrial automation. The Opportunity

As the firm prepares to raise its next fund, the Controller will step into a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Founding Partner. This is a unique opportunity for a finance individual with aspirations to grow into a CFO role. You’ll be the internal finance lead, managing all aspects of fund and management company accounting, and acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee all fund and management company accounting operations

+ Manage audit and tax processes with external providers

+ Lead LP reporting, including capital calls and distributions

+ Monitor cash flow and coordinate capital activity across entities

+ Build and enhance internal financial controls and processes

+ Prepare financial reports and dashboards for internal and LP use

+ Support fund modeling, valuations, and fundraising efforts

+ Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the firm’s leadership

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 5–10+ years of accounting/finance experience, ideally in venture capital or private equity

+ Strong knowledge of fund accounting, GAAP, and partnership structures

+ Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors

+ Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in a fast-paced, founder-driven environment

+ Long-term interest in scaling into a CFO role

+ CPA preferred; venture capital or fund experience required
