Description
We are a dynamic and fast-growing, VC-backed software startup on a mission to leverage AI for our customers. As we scale rapidly, we are looking for an Accounting Manager to serve as a key contributor to our finance team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage day-to-day accounting operations in QuickBooks Online and ensure the accuracy of financial data in one of the most pivotal stages of our growth.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Accounting Operations:
+ Manage all accounting processes, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), general ledger (GL), and payroll operations using QuickBooks Online.
+ Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions monthly to ensure accuracy of financial records.
+ Prepare month-end closings, journal entries, and financial statements.
+ Financial Reporting & Analysis:
+ Generate accurate and timely financial reports for the leadership team and investors, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
+ Provide insights and analysis to support forecasting, budgets, and strategic decisions.
+ Assist with tracking and allocating SaaS revenue in line with contracts and subscription models.
+ Compliance & Process Improvement:
+ Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including sales tax filings, vendor reporting, and 1099 processing.
+ Develop and refine accounting workflows to improve efficiency and scalability as the company grows.
+ Partner with external auditors or tax professionals, as needed.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
+ Work closely with the operations, sales, and other teams to ensure accuracy in revenue recognition, transactional data, and customer-related financial analytics.
Requirements
+ Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in the technology or software industry.
+ QuickBooks Proficiency: Advanced user of QuickBooks Online with proven ability to manage a full set of accounting records independently.
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).
+ Tech Enthusiasm: Comfort working in a startup environment with the ability to adapt to evolving systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Public accounting experience and/or CPA designation not required, but a plus.
+ Familiarity with subscription-based revenue models or deferred revenue concepts.
+ Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools such as BI dashboards or basic ERP platforms.
